Molly
Molly dancing is from East Anglia. It is associated with the tradition of plough boys performing on Plough Monday (the first Monday after Twelfth Night in January).
A variety of steps are used, the most popular modern variant being a hop step with a high knee lift and strong swinging arms with an earthy and vigorous style. They share many figures with social dancing and often use patterns where dancers progress to a different part of the set. Little was known and collected about the dances until the 1970s, so many teams developed their own dances and styles with varying set sizes.
