At the heart of English folk
Help us to grow

Support us

As a charity, we rely on your support to deliver our national programmes of music, dance, education and artistic development.

There’s never been a better time to support folk. Every donation you make between now and 2019 is matched by Arts Council England – so you can double your gift without having to do anything extra!

If you would like to support the next generation of folk artists, there are several ways you can help us.

Help us grow the National Youth Folk Ensemble

EFDSS’ National Youth Folk Ensemble is more than just a wonderful band of musicians: it’s also a major outreach initiative, through which we can work with young people who may otherwise have no access to folk music at all. It’s very important to EFDSS that we are able to expand this project, and now we need your help for it to grow.

Be part of the future of folk

Since 1932 we’ve worked to champion the traditional folk arts – music, song, dance, storytelling, customs and traditions – as part of the rich and diverse cultural landscape of the UK.

We run a vibrant programme spanning education, music, dance, artist development and more, both nationwide and at our London headquarters Cecil Sharp House. And to do this, we need your help.

Leave a legacy

Recently, thanks to the incredible generosity of supporters leaving gifts to EFDSS in their wills, we have been able to create a dedicated archive space in the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library, install a lift in Cecil Sharp House, employ a Dance Development Manager, and much more.
