North West Morris (Part 2)
Short sticks with bells on (sometimes known as ‘bobbins’), ‘slings’ (short lengths of braided ropes), and occasionally flower garlands are used in the dances.
The men’s costumes are usually breeches and shirts with hats decorated with flowers and strings of beads worn around the neck. Another style is to wear caps and bolero jackets.
Women often wear mid-length dresses or skirts and petticoats with a pinafore or waistcoat, strings of beads and hats or decorative headgear.
