This tree-inspired collection of music, commissioned by EFDSS, has been guided by Adriano Adewale and developed in collaboration with Kuljit Bhamra, Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne, Jenn Butterworth, Phoebe Harty, Nancy Kerr and Camilo Menjura, who will all join for this exclusive preview of the project before it premieres at folk festivals this summer.

Brazilian virtuosic percussionist and composer of diverse and dynamic work Adriano Adewale is known for his charismatic performances, exploratory approach to music, and ability to create magical soundscapes from the seemingly banal.

Kuljit Bhamra is a British composer, record producer, musician and educator whose main instrument is the Tabla. Best known as one of the creators of Bhangra music and for his many collaborations with musicians from different genres and cultures. Awarded an MBE in 2009.

Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne is at the forefront of his generation of English folk musicians as both a powerful and commanding singer and a masterful player of the Anglo concertina and melodeon.

Jenn Butterworth is widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading exponents of traditional folk guitar.Based in Glasgow, Scotland, Jenn is a central figure in the thriving Scottish folk music scene.

Phoebe Harty is a London-based cellist and songwriter whose rich musical background spans the folk traditions of her native Lancashire and the rest of the British Isles, through to the traditional music and dance of northern Spain and the vibrant pop and indie scene of South East London.

Nancy Kerr is one of the most celebrated folk musicians of her generation, and has to date won 6 Folk Awards from BBC Radio 2.

Camilo Menjura is one of London’s most loved singer-songwriters and choir master, this two-time LUKAS winner for Musician of Year specializes in Afro-Colombian, Afro-Peruvian and Andean Jazz.
