Stripped back solo performances from Debbie Armour and Holly Clarke.

Burd Ellen is a project featuring Debbie Armour and Gayle Brogan. The group uses traditional song to explore and evoke dark landscapes and deep stories. Debbie Armour will be performing a rare solo date, presenting stripped back versions of Burd Ellen material and more from her extensive traditional song repertoire.

“Dripping with strangeness and unease” – The Guardian (Top 10 Folk Albums 2020 & 2022)

Holly Clarke is a musician and singer who performs with an infectious energy and passion for traditional song. A powerful voice that carries and connects the traditions and tales of our times. Holly is a singer who explores these old songs and finds new ways to perform their unique narratives

Holly is the possessor of a seemingly effortless and transporting folk voice which is perfectly suited to her broad and deeply thought-out repertoire, and is an enviably confident and skilled instrumentalist. – Nancy Kerr
