Jim’s latest album plunges inside himself, offering up his voice to his profoundly unique and moving compositions. He draws from social-political observations, contemporary songwriting, historical and traditional material and other rich inspirations – the poetry of John Clare, the writing of Robert Macfarlane and South Yorkshire author Barry Hines.
His band of Neal Heppleston, David Grubb, Sally Smith and Guy Whitaker are key collaborators, somehow capturing all the intimacy of friends playing together in a room and also the fiery energy of a band locked into it on stage. Ghedi’s intricate guitar playing twists and flows through the core.
