Join us now, and you could win a holiday!

Thursday 20th of June 2024

There has never been a better time to demonstrate your support for folk dance, music and song – by joining the English Folk Dance and Song Society.

Our members are our valued advocates and supporters. You can now join them as a Starter Member for only £2 a month – and you could perhaps also win a dancing holiday in the sun!

You will receive:

  • Monthly email updates about our activities, along with wider folk news
  • Our exclusive members-only FOLK pin badge, a small but significant symbol that you have joined our welcoming membership community
  • The knowledge that you have joined us in championing folk at the heart of England’s cultural landscape
  • For full Individual (not Starter) members: English Dance & Song magazine every four months; the annual Folk Music Journal; access to our members-only website for past publications and other benefits; and Public Liability Insurance for your folk activities (subject to terms & conditions) if you choose Standard (Practitioner) membership

Thanks to the generosity of Gerry Flynn Events, if you sign up now, you will have the chance to win a dancing holiday in the Algarve for two!

This holiday, Winter Folk Dancing in the Sun in January 2025, includes ten nights’ dinner, bed and breakfast at the Real Marina Hotel in the traditional fishing town of Olhão, the gateway to the Ria Formosa National Park. There will be dancing every evening, daytime tutorials and workshops, music, song, and more. Travel costs are not included. You can find out more about the holiday at gerryflynnevents.com.

You can join online now, or call us on 020 7485 2206 within office hours.

All new personal (Starter, Individual or Joint) members joining before Sunday 1 December 2024 will be entered into the prize draw, with the winner being selected randomly on 2 December.

Donations and membership subscriptions provide immediate and valuable financial benefit. But even more than that, they prove that so many people value folk culture in England – helping us to secure support from collaborators and funding partners.

All individual memberships except for Individual (Practitioner) are eligible for Gift Aid. If you are a UK taxpayer and are able to make a Gift Aid declaration, your subscription will be worth an extra 25% to the English Folk Dance and Song Society, at no cost to you.

If you have any questions about membership please email our Membership and Marketing Co-ordinator: [email protected]
