Following on from our speaker’s presentation, there will be a discussion. This is aimed at those of you who are, or are keen to be, developing youth folk dance projects in any settings, both in and out of schools. We are delighted that Laura Nicholson will be our main speaker – she’ll present an overview of the current work of One Dance UK in relation to children and young people's dance – including their work as the subject association for dance in schools, their national U.Dance youth dance programme, their work with CPD for dance educators and more. Laura's talk will stimulate our discussion and knowledge-sharing around how folk dance fits into the wider dance education and youth dance scene, what quality dance education looks like, what support and CPD is out there, and where we can go with it!
