Organised by St Albans Folk Music, New Roots provides performance opportunities for young musicians performing traditionally-based music. Entrants may perform traditional or contemporary folk, roots or world music, either traditional or self-penned.
Judging this year’s competition will be Emily Askew, Jamie Roberts, Andy Stafford and Valmai Goodyst.
Entrants will be required to submit a 15-minute recording of their music. Successful applicants will be invited to perform at the final in St Albans.
Closing date for entries is 31 January 2018.
