With young people at the heart of the programme, the ensemble will be an opportunity to build on the work of existing folk groups from across the country and collaborate with organisations to create a national collective of talented young folk musicians. Mapping survey
To help with planning and development for the new ensemble, and associated engagement programme, we are currently working with Sound Connections on an audit of youth folk music provision across England.
Everyone involved in running youth folk music activities outside of the school curriculum - groups, ensembles, bands, courses and projects - in England is warmly invited to complete this online survey.
We’d also love to hear from people who aren’t currently running youth folk music activities but have done so in the recent past or plan to do so in the near future – as well as from people running activities where folk music forms part of the offer.
The survey is now live and will close on 20 March 2015.
A report summarising findings from the survey will be freely available from the EFDSS website in May 2015.
