Bella Hardy & Cara Luft's Tour Diary - Update 3

Wednesday 8th of October 2014

Bella and Cara on tour

Bella Hardy and Cara Luft are getting ready to embark on their UK tour. You can find updates about their time on the road below.

Update 1 | 2 | 3

Update 3

Here are some photos from the sold out gig at New Mills last night.

Update 2

Dear diary

That's us on the road out of Essex and heading north for Derbyshire. We're sorry to be leaving our Castle Hedingham hidey-hole, from which Cara has been experiencing the best of British weather (mainly storms and scattered showers), but Bella is excited to be heading to home turf. Whilst in Canada last year, Cara took Bella to see Buffalo. Bella shall be returning the favour with an abundance of sheep.

Update 2

The first two gigs in London and Kelvedon have gone really well. We're performing two songs we've written together, and some new songs which we've learnt including Dirk Powell's Waterbound. We were writing our set list on Thursday, and realised we were one song short. So Bella wrote a new one. It's called Foolish Trouble Farewell.

We're looking forward to our gig in Belper tonight, and then we've Sunday off to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving at Bella's house. We just need to try and catch a turkey between here and Edale.

Love Cara & Bella x

Update 1

Dear Diary,

Mean old EFDSS has locked us away for 4 days, hoping we don't kill each other with carrot sticks and oat cakes. Bella is holding a sharp knife. We arrived yesterday afternoon in our subtly coloured rental (thank you Avis) and drove the Essex lanes until we found our lovely cottage in the middle of nowhere. A place where we can make as much squealy banjo and fiddle music as we want without disturbing anything other than the apple tress and sheep. The apple trees are looking fairly cross. We are very near Castle Hedingham, in fact we can see if from our front window, a reminder of where we shall be locked if we fail to produce new music in our allotted time.

Update 1

Here was last night's activities: Cara is knitting and Bella is drinking. Oh, and we played some music. Tomorrow we appear on BBC Derby at lunchtime and then we'll be heading home to work on our set for the tour which starts in London on Thursday. Expect songs about apple trees, sheep and sharp knives.

Update 1

Love from Bella and Cara x
