Creative Artist Residencies
The creative artist residencies are open to professional artists from all genres to research and develop new work linked to the folk arts at Cecil Sharp House in London. Awards are made annually and applications are invited from individuals or groups including dancers, poets, storytellers, musicians or visual artists.
The creative artist residencies are part of EFDSS’ Aspire Programme, supported by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, that provides artistic support and professional development to artists.
The residencies include the use of rehearsal rooms at Cecil Sharp House (but not include 24 hour storage space); a grant of up to £2,000 to cover costs and expenses; performance space for sharing the results; and support for future development of the work.
Application information
The deadline for submitted applications is 10pm on Monday 2 June, for residencies to be taken between September 2014 and March 2015.

The Graeme Miles Bursary
This special bursary is in memory of Middlesbrough singer songwriter Graeme Miles, who died in April last year. It is a one-off award of up £1,200 to an artist or group, aged 18 to 25, based in the North East of England, with a particular preference to those based in Teeside.
The aim is to fund an important development opportunity, project or programme of activity that will have a lasting impact on their career. Uses for the bursary could include touring support, an artistic collaboration with other musicians, paying for recording costs, mentoring, funding an industry showcase or buying a new instrument
Application information
The application criteria is for individual musicians including composers and groups who are in the early stages of their professional career or final stages of advanced musical training with a genuine commitment to build a professional career in music/
