The Social Folk Dance Caller Census is now open

We're pleased to announce that our census of dance callers is now live and accepting responses. We'd love you to take part if you're over 18 and call for social folk dancing of any kind. The survey will ask about topics like what brought you into calling, what sorts of events you call for, and what helped you on your journey to becoming a caller. 

This survey is the first stage of a research project to find out more about the people who call for social folk dances, the events they call for, and the dances they call.  

The project is led by Lisa Heywood, a caller with over 15 years’ experience of calling for a range of social folk dance styles. 

The survey will take around 20 minutes to complete, and will be open until midnight on 20 July.
