Folk Education Development Day: Working with Rural Communities
Folk Education Development Day
We're delighted to announce the next Folk Education Network's Development Day, 'Working with Rural Communities', will take place in Cambridge - and online - on Wednesday 19 November, 10am - 4pm. The event will be in partnership with and will take place at Cambridgeshire Music in Histon, and be hosted online by Live to your Living Room.
This is a free professional development day for artists, educators, practitioners, organisers and anyone interested in folk music, dance, and related folk arts, in any setting, such as education, heritage and participation settings.
Spotlighting interesting folk music, song and dance learning and participation practice in rural settings around Cambridgeshire and the surrounding region, expect presentations, short workshops, and opportunities for discussion. We have a fantastic line up of speakers and workshop leaders, whose work focuses on young people and intergenerational groups.
Hybrid Networking
There will be breaks and networking opportunities scheduled throughout the day. There will also be the opportunity for facilitated networking between delegates who are in the venue and those who are online.
How it works:
Delegate lists will be shared between both groups at the beginning of the day. If there is someone in the other group you would like to talk to, you can submit a chat invitation to one of our facilitators. We will then make contact with the individual and set up a slot during the final networking session at the end of the day for you both to meet in a Zoom breakout room. This can be done via your own laptop or phone, or there will be one or two laptops available if you don't have a device.
