Thanks to the continued and generous support of Conrad and Jennifer Bailey we are delighted to announce a sixth year of the Micro Grants Programme for Professional Folk Artists who live and work in England.
This year eight grants of £500 each are being offered to folk artists to support anything that will help their professional career development. This could be:
- Time to develop creative projects
- Support for the production of new albums
- Instrument purchase
- Marketing, PR and/or digital support
- Technical equipment purchase (e.g. portable sound equipment)
- Other personal training and development activities (including courses)
This list is not exhaustive but please note this fund does not support the development of new or continuing education projects such as creating a project for schools. In addition to under graduate and post graduate university courses (or equivalent).
Applicants can be at any stage of their career but must be working as a professional artist in folk music and/or dance. Applications will be accepted from individuals and groups of artists. The maximum award to each successful application will be £500 regardless of the number of artists involved in the application.
We particularly welcome applications from artists underrepresented in folk and traditional arts including but not exclusively Global Majority artists, artists with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ artists.
Closing date for completed applications midnight 19 October 2025
Notification of outcome by 25 November 2025
Bursary projects to be completed by 31 August 2026
