Attitude is Everything's Live Events Access Charter

Friday 28th of February 2025

We support Attitude is Everything's Live Events Access Charter

We're really proud to be part of Attitude is Everything’s pioneering Live Events Access Charter – as a pilot member of the new version. The Live Events Access Charter is a framework to support and encourage live event organisations to progress their inclusive practices for diverse disabled people across all areas of their business. The Charter is not just for venues, but is also suitable for Festival organisers.

Striving for equity, diversity and inclusivity in the folk arts is central to our vision and mission - and why we were in a strong position to be part of the advisory panel. We are continuously developing, challenging and expanding thinking and practice in this area.

Cecil Sharp House is already proud holders of a Silver Award, and we are working towards improvements all the time. We have been a 'Chilled Venue' for a long time. We welcome people who can't always sit still and in silence. Asking that everyone is respectful and kind to other audience members and the artists, remembering that not all disabilities are visible.

We are continuing our commitment to work with Attitude is Everything, and to and build further on our work to make our building and programme more accessible to everyone.

The Attitude is Everything team has relaunched the Charter on a new online platform with easy-to-navigate sections. This refreshed approach will amplify community voices, intersectionality, and sustainability, allowing organisations to track progress visually.
