Folk Experience Days 2022
The English Folk Dance and Song Society is looking for Music Education Hub partners to host Folk Experience Days for young instrumentalists in March, April and May 2022.
We are offering this opportunity, worth £1,000, for free to Music Education Hub partners as part of our National Youth Folk Ensemble programme, which aims to encourage more young people to discover, play and love folk music.
We will be selecting partners on the basis where we feel a Folk Experience Day will make the most impact and contribute most positively to encouraging a wider range of young people to experience and access folk music.
Each Folk Experience Day provides the chance for up to 30 young musicians (aged 12–18) to learn from highly skilled folk artist-educators in a positive and inspiring day of creative folk music workshops. Young musicians will learn by ear, develop creative arrangement ideas, and experience techniques and repertoire used with the National Youth Folk Ensemble.
