Young musicians won’t be able to take over Cecil Sharp House this year, but we still want to celebrate the vibrant youth folk music that happens in England and beyond!
On Saturday 4 July 2020, help us flood social media with videos and photographs of young folk bands and musicians in action! You could share a video of your youth folk band performing together, or a photograph showing the innovative ways you have continued to make music together during lockdown. Post your video or photograph on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram on 4 July and use the hashtag #YouthFolkTakeover for others to find. We will retweet some posts on @TheEFDSS Twitter account throughout the day so make sure you tag us and use the hashtag!
This year’s annual showcase of vibrant young folk bands would have been hosted by the EFDSS Youth Forum and London Youth Folk Ensemble on 4 July. We would have welcomed guests from London and beyond, including Roots Alive from ArtForms Leeds.
Would you have bought a ticket for this event, or for any other cancelled events at Cecil Sharp House?
