Help Musicians UK (formerly the Musicians Benevolent Fund) is the leading UK charity for musicians of all genres. They help emerging professionals to develop their talent, existing professionals who hit a crisis and musicians in retirement.
The English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) will host a national showcase conference on Wednesday 25 June 2014 at the Town Hall, Birmingham to celebrate and showcase The Full English learning programme – an innovative England-wide folk arts education project. The conference will share learnings from The Full English and is the largest-scale event of its kind to have been hosted in recent history, highlighting how to make folk arts relevant in schools and beyond.
An inspirational day of performances, presentations and discussion celebrating high quality folk arts projects in schools, it will share and celebrate the outcomes of The Full English learning programme that has been taking place across England over the past year.
Here at the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) HQ we’re pretty excited about tomorrow. The 2014 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards mark an important milestone – their 15th anniversary – in a ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall. The awards will see some of the biggest names in folk music come together under one roof to celebrate the UK’s thriving folk music scene.
