Plan your folk festival year

Hardly a week goes by without a folk festival taking place somewhere in the country! Plan next year’s diary with English Dance & Song magazine’s list of Folk Festivals in 2014. It is published in the magazine’s Winter 2013 issue, and is also available on the EFDSS website.

“Festivals are an important way in which many people enjoy their folk music and dance. They come in all shapes and sizes – and take place in cities, villages, seaside resorts and green-field sites. They are not just confined to the summer, but take place in every month of the year. Some festivals have a broad range of folk music and dance, while others specialise, for example in sea shanties or different styles of dance.” - Derek Schofield, Editor of English Dance & Song magazine

There are over 170 festivals in England and Wales in the list. Additions and updates to the list can be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
