The Full English learning programme – with communities
This energetic and vibrant 10 minute film shares footage taken from creative learning projects and events which took place with our cultural partners in each region of England. The film captures the sheer diversity, joy and creativity of many of these events - for families, community choirs, and youth and adult music-makers – as well as the popular introductory Folk Song in England study days.
The Full English learning programme – folk dance in schools
Featuring nine minutes of action packed footage, this film shows a wide variety of folk dance forms – including morris, sword, clog and ceilidh - in action across the curriculum from key stage 1 – 5. These mini case studies include young people studying dance for GCSE and International Baccalaureate qualifications. Footage is contextualised with short clips of teachers and students discussing the positive impact and potential of this work.
Both films were filmed and edited by regular EFDSS artistic collaborator Roswitha Chesher.
Resource bank
Learning resources created through the projects featured in the film (eg using folk dance creatively across primary and secondary education, film clips, audio files of music, contextual background information, ideas for cross-curricular learning and many other resources) are now available to freely access and download from the EFDSS Resource Bank.
