Using Zoom for education activities

In the past few months the English Folk Dance and Song Society’s Education team has run a number of Zoom tutorials for folk educators.

Our Education Manager Esbjörn Wettermark has put together a PDF of step-by-step instructions for some of the functions that you may find useful when running your own education activity via Zoom.

Please note that Zoom is updated regularly; these instructions are correct for Zoom 5.4.9 and the latest updates up to January 2021.

You will find information on:

  • Changing your sound settings for music (“original sound”).
  • Basic in-meeting security and chat settings
  • How to find and use the participant settings (“pin” or ”spotlight” video, “raise hand” etc.)
  • Sharing your screen and sound
  • Using the “whiteboard” function
