New Roots are running their annual competition for young performers of all styles of traditional or contemporary folk, roots or world music, for those performing traditional or original material. There are categories for both under 18s and 18-24 year olds.
There is no ‘winner’, but it’s a great opportunity to get your music heard and lots of great prizes are awarded to chosen acts. The prizes in 2015 were performances at Towersey, Upton-on-Severn, Leigh, St Albans, Village Pump, Sidmouth and Warwick Folk Festivals and at folk clubs, including Redbourn, Waltham Abbey, Chesham, Letchworth, Norwich and Lewes.
The deadline is 31 January 2016, for more information on how to apply, click here.
