Saturday Folk Music Workshops

Enrolments now open for new season of workshops

This October sees the start of an extended series of Saturday Folk Music Workshops at Cecil Sharp House, including a number of brand new classes.

We are delighted to be offering new courses in guitar, led by Dave Delarre as well as new workshops to develop ensemble playing.  Stepping Stones to Sessions aims to develop confidence and skills for playing in sessions, while Folk Band provides an opportunity to gain experience of playing with others as part of a band.  These classes are in addition to our existing workshops in Accordion led by Paul Hutchinson, Banjo led by Ed Hicks, Fiddle with Beth Gifford and Laurel Swift as well as Melodeon and Song led by Hazel Askew.

All instrumental workshops are split by level of ability, so whether you are looking to learn a new instrument from scratch or develop an existing skill, there are classes to suit your needs.  Our tutors are all experts in their field and are well respected folk musicians.

"Totally brilliant - my favourite Saturdays! Great teaching from a great player, in a dynamic class."
