At the heart of English folk

2018-19

Congratulations to cohort 3 on a fantastic year!

These talented young folk musicians from across England are the third cohort of the Ensemble, and the final year-group to work with the Ensemble’s inaugural Artistic Director, Sam Sweeney.

Following a week’s residency in North Yorkshire, Leveret and the National Youth Folk Ensemble presented a free performance at Giggleswick School’s Richard Whiteley Theatre in Settle for local school children. Youth music charity NYMAZ live-streamed the event to schools around the country and it can still be viewed online at connectresound.live. In April the Ensemble performed at Cecil Sharp House, and in the summer they travelled to Wickham Festival (2 August) and Sidmouth Folk Festival (4 August).  They also delivered a youth workshop in Sidmouth on 5 August.
