Inspired by the set list from a lost 1920s village hall dance band, The Servants’ Ball bring together a cultural scrapbook of British musical history; ancient English dance tunes, polkas and quadrilles from Europe, banjo music, Victorian music hall, light classical, step dance tunes, gallops....
Ewan Wardrop features on the album with the Blakey’s hammered into the soles of his shoes percussively tapping a storm through many of the dance tunes alongside music performed by some of Britian’s leading traditional musicians.
Bring along your singing voice and your dancing shoes! The evening will commence with some seasonal carols around the piano and concertina....
All welcome, free entry with booking.
