An exciting introduction to all things folk for 9–12 year olds.
Musicians of all instruments and levels are welcome to come and enjoy playing, singing, dancing and creating fantastic folk music.
This year we are focusing on the archives of American folk song collector, James Madison Carpenter. Currently being digitally archived to the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library, his collection contains a wealth of ballads, tunes and other material collected from across UK. We'll be creating our own new and exciting works based on his source recordings and manuscripts, and learning more about his life.
The course ends with a chance to perform your new skills to family and friends. No previous experience of folk music or dance needed.
