National Youth Folk Ensemble

National Youth Folk Ensemble

- (Doors: 7pm)

Cecil Sharp House, London

The National Youth Folk Ensemble brings together talented young folk musicians from across England. Sparks invariably fly when they create their own contemporary takes on traditional music from England and beyond.

These exceptional 14-18 year olds meet four times a year for intensive weeks of music-making in different parts of England, working with folk luminaries such as Sam Sweeney (Artistic Director), Rob Harbron, Miranda Rutter, Andy Cutting, Emma Reid, Sarah Hayes and Saul Rose.

Expect inspiring modern arrangements of folk tunes, alongside new compositions drawing on traditional music.

Find out more about the Ensemble, including how to apply and audition for 2018/19.

The National Youth Folk Ensemble is an English Folk Dance and Song Society project supported by Arts Council England.
