National Youth Folk Ensemble: meet the young musicians
We asked the young musicians in the National Youth Folk Ensemble to talk with film maker Roswitha Chesher about what playing in the Ensemble means to them.
Music: Day’s Whim (trad, arranged by National Youth Folk Ensemble 2021–22).
The National Youth Folk Ensemble celebrates excellence in youth folk music, bringing together talented young folk musicians from across England to create and perform inspiring new arrangements of folk music.
Each year we look for excellent instrumentalists aged 14 to 18 to join the Ensemble. We are looking for young people who are dedicated to developing as folk musicians, and are excited about collaborating with others who share their passion!
We champion folk music and dance at the heart of cultural life, all across England.
Donations provide immediate support. But even more than that, they prove that so many people value what we do – helping us to secure funding from partner organisations.
