The Young Folk Club’s Traditional Tunebook is a collection of popular session tunes and lesser-known gems. It was originally created as a resource for The Young Folk Club’s free online sessions but is a great set of tunes for any session, or to learn and play at home.
The tunes are organised into sections based on time signature or dance style, so it’s easy to find a particular tune type.
There are several versions of the tunebook in various clefs and transpositions, to cater for different instruments.
The Tunebook (PDFs and website content) can be used and shared free of charge for non-commercial educational use.

About the Young Folk Club
The Young Folk Club aims to create a safe, welcoming space for young people to share and enjoy folk music together; to provide opportunities to connect and make friends; to appeal to a wide range of young people, including those new to folk music; and to cater for interests in playing, listening, performing and other areas of the folk arts.
They host regular free online events, run by young people for young people – with practical support and funding from the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS). They also invite guest artists to share their music and talk about themselves.

About the English Folk Dance and Song Society’s Resource Bank
The Resource Bank collects together hundreds of practical materials for use in formal and informal teaching and learning contexts, in schools and also in community settings. All of the materials are free and downloadable. They make imaginative use of folk song, music, dance, drama and other arts.
The resources have developed out of innovative projects and initiatives run by the English Dance and Song Society Education team over the past decade or so. You can find resources suitable for your subject or setting by filtering by Topic, Key Stage and/or Audience.
The Resource Bank was developed through The Full English project with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
