Nice Green Café at Cecil Sharp House

19-07-2010

Nice Green Van, the Camden-based social enterprise committed to promoting sustainable food, will begin running the cafe at Cecil Sharp House from September 1 2010.  To be managed by Nice Green Van founder, Helen Tindale, the new café at the headquarters of the English Folk Dance and Song Society will be known as the Nice Green Café.

The Nice Green Café at Cecil Sharp House will provide a vibrant café serving imaginative, fresh, affordable, culturally diverse and ethically sourced food. Using the best natural ingredients, Helen Tindale presents seasonal and lovingly prepared food.

The café will be open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 7pm, and will also open for selected evening events and Sundays, serving a core of regular dishes such as soups, fresh fruit juices, home made breads and cakes, crepes, and sandwiches.

Helen Tindale said "I'm really looking forward to opening the Nice Green Café at Cecil Sharp House - with my experience of cooking in many different cultures with fresh and local ingredients, I plan to create a café complementing the wide variety of traditions to be found here, and making use of the beautiful walled garden."

Katy Spicer, Chief Executive of the EFDSS, said "We are delighted to welcome Nice Green Café to Cecil Sharp House, and we hope it will be an enticing option for not only our regular visitors, but also for local residents and workers who may not yet have visited Cecil Sharp House."
