Significant addition to the online catalogue of the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library
New entries added to the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library online catalogue
A significant addition to the online catalogue of the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library has taken place with more than 3,000 new entries added.
You can now search through this world famous book collection online, something only previously available on card catalogues and electronic databases at Cecil Sharp House.
The online catalogue was developed in 2011 for the Leslie Shepherd collection.
Thanks to funding from Arts Council England and more than a little hard work from expert cataloguer Elaine Bradtke and her partner Doug Kingston, the first tranche of electronic data was uploaded on 31 October.
Some 3,079 new entries have been added, including a large proportion of the books available within the library.
Library Director Malcolm Taylor said: “We are frantically adding to the catalogue all the time and working towards adding all our periodical and more in-depth data. Watch this space!”
