Big Dance 2012 launches

Dancers from around the UK performed on the platforms of St Pancras International Station on Thursday 5 July for the official launch of Big Dance 2012.
Big Dance 2012, which runs from 7-15 July, will see some of the UK's most renowned and innovative choreographers perform with local dance groups and members of the public in a range of venues and locations. Find out what's happening in your region
Big Dance is delivered by the Mayor of London, Arts Council England and the Foundation for Community Dance with a network of Big Dance Hubs, leading dance organisations around the UK. In London, Big Dance has been funded by Legacy Trust UK, with additional support from The Foundation for Sport and the Arts.
The centrepiece of EFDSS' Big Dance 2012 events will be Must Come Down, an exuberant spectacle of vitality and passionate dance wrapped in a cloak of beautiful music, stunning singing and heart-stopping stories, performed by Morris Offspring.

A new generation of outstanding morris dancers celebrate the power and grace of English traditional dance in a show featuring the silver-tongued Debs Newbold (EFDSS Associate Artist) alongside Becky Price, Gavin Davenport, Matthew Keegan-Phipps and Nancy Potts, directed by Laurel Swift (EFDSS Associate Artist).
