Jack Honeysett: The Morris Photography Exhibition

21-02-2012

May – September 2012
Cecil Sharp House, London

This Spring/Summer Morris Offspring dancer & artist Jack Honeysett will shine a light on The Morris.  Inspired by seeing the wealth of images taken by amateur photographers which feature in the log books - and now web pages - of Morris teams all over the country, Jack will curate photographic exhibition.

GET INVOLVED: call for entries

There are four categories; photographers may submit one photograph in each.

1. Action
One or more dancers in motion. The photograph you choose should depict an intriguing or satisfyingly composed image of Morris.

2. Portrait
Single dancers at rest. It should be an examination of their poise, facial expression and the emotions, which the body can convey.

3. Still Life
Inanimate physical objects that adorn the morris world.

4. Morris life
The social side of morris dancing, having a pint with your friends or patting each other on the back after a good dance out.

Photographs must be digitally submitted, and should ideally be high quality/resolution. Each photograph should be accompanied with the photographer’s name, address and telephone number, plus a short description of the image, and the submission category. All submissions must be your own work. Teams and persons in the photograph should be named. It is the photographer’s responsibility to seek full permission from the subjects of their photographs.  All entries must be submitted by noon on Monday 9 April.

Please send all entries to morrisphotography@live.co.uk. Only a select number of photographs will be displayed within the exhibition, but there will be an online photo album which will display all entries.
