Folk Educators Group
What is the Folk Educators Group?
The Folk Educators Group is a national networking group of folk arts educators from across England, facilitated by the English Folk Dance and Song Society. Following consultation in 2010 with folk arts educators from around the country, the Group is facilitated by EFDSS and had its first meeting in March 2011.
It exists to provide peer information and support, and to encourage dialogue with the wider worlds of arts, learning and participation.
Its objectives are to:
• give an opportunity for members to share high quality practice and network
• enable peers to consult and discuss issues and present their work to one another
• share knowledge around folk arts education and wider arts and education sectors
• provide information on new developments in the sector and related sectors
• act as a catalyst for positive change and development
• celebrate the best of folk arts education!
The Folk Educators Group also offers other organisations a platform through which to consult, or inform, a committed group of folk arts educators.
Membership of the Group and attendance at its meetings is FREE.
