Why join EFDSS?

As an English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) member, you will be one of our greatest advocates, helping us to carry on our mission of preserving and promoting the very best of English traditional folk arts. Your support also provides vital income that allows us to continue our work all over the country, in areas such as artist development and education.

Members’ benefits include:

  • Free and unlimited access to the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library and all its archives
  • A full-colour quarterly magazine, English Dance & Song, providing news and reviews of what’s hot in the folk arts sector
  • Folk Music Journal, our annual academic journal, highly valued by universities and libraries across the world
  • Limited public liability insurance cover

We have nearly 4,000 members, based around the world, and during the past six years their support has helped us become one of most dynamic arts organisations in England. We have dramatically increased activities around learning, performance and artist support, and have developed Cecil Sharp House into a vibrant and creative arts centre.
