The Christmas season kicks off with A Feast of Songs and Wassails on 4 December. For this concert The Cecil Sharp House Choir returns with their ever popular annual festive concert led by conductor Sally Davies.
Bring the entire family along and take part in a lively Christmas Family Barn Dance on 8 December. All dances will be accompanied by live music and a caller to lead you through the steps. Participants encouraged to come wearing glitter!
Bellowhead and Faustus player Paul Sartin teams up with Paul Hutchinson to reclaim the folk streets as the wickedly inventive Belshazzar’s Feast on 11 December.
Carols from the Countryside on 15 December will see Musical Director Alison Rowley, compere Dick Hobbs and producer Mike Wilson-Jones will lead an evening of the most well-known English carols in a concert that will hark back to those presented by Ralph Vaughan Williams in the 1950s. Audience participation will be encouraged! Artists to include: singer-songwriter Gavin Davenport and the Take Twenty choir, accompanied by pianist Dan Moriyama and musical director Adam Treadaway.
Also featuring is the chance to take part in the Friend's of Cecil Sharp House’s legendary New Year’s Eve Ceilidh, 31 December - this year the Hosepipe Band and caller Rob Sibthorpe will help you see in 2014.
